Many new homeowners at Catherine’s House in Bedminster will get an extra special present this December, as they move into their new apartment just in time for Christmas.
The new homes at Catherine’s House have proved hugely popular with local buyers since they were launched in June this year with 94% of the properties sold. Now, six months later, 34 owners are preparing to move in and enjoy their first Christmas and New Year in their new home.
Aimed at local buyers and priced accordingly, over half of the apartments sold to date have been bought with the support of the Government’s Help to Buy scheme, which brings home ownership within reach of more first-time buyers.
Anna Crane, sales co-ordinator at Ocean, said: “There has been a huge amount of interest and excitement around these new properties – when speaking to our buyers, the location and the price given the quality of the properties, were two big driving factors. Many of the new homeowners were already local, moving within BS3 to be in the heart of the area and be part of the regeneration that is set take place there.
“Three quarters of the new homeowners are first time buyers – it is just fantastic to see so many people taking their first step onto the housing ladder and the fact that it is just in time for the festive season will make it even more special for them.”
Francis Firmstone, director of Firmstone Developments, added: “Feedback about the specification of the apartments and the overall look of the building has been really positive and now it’s time for residents to start moving in and enjoying their new homes. We wish them all a very Merry Christmas!”
The properties are just a short walk away from Bedminster’s independent shops, bars and restaurants, which has made them very appealing to new residents and the apartments mark the first step in the regeneration of St Catherine’s Place, a one-acre site bordered by Dalby Avenue to the east and south and East Street to the north.
